MOVIE EPIC! Directed by Academy Award winning filmmaker George Stevens, Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean star in an epic drama covering the life of a Texas cattle rancher and his family. After meeting and falling in love with socialite Leslie Lynnton (Taylor), rancher Jordan "Bick" Benedict (Hudson) marries Leslie and takes her back to his sprawling property. Struggling to adjust to her new life, a series of events caused by Leslie's presence sees a parcel of Benedict's land bequeathed to her husband's rival, Jett Rink (Dean). Offering to buy the land off Rink for twice its value, Benedict's offer is declined before Rink strikes oil and prospers at Benedict's expense. Dean's final performance before his untimely death, the actor earned a posthumous Oscar nomination.
