Stelarc – Suspending Disbelief
Melbourne based STELARC burst into prominence in the early 1970s with a series of confronting, and outrageous public art performances. Following his mantra that ‘the body is obsolete’ the Cypriot born Australian set about proving his theory by testing the limits of his own body in a series of death-defying stunts. STELARC creativity over the decades has ranged across the arts, sciences and robotics. This is a bio pic about a lively, articulate character with a demonic laugh and a presence that fills the screen.
